| 1411 | Senior Drive Control Engineer Kidsgrove Senior Drive Control Engineer £Negotiable: 30-45k dependent on experience Location: Rugby Number one in marine and offshore industries and number three in worldwide Oil, Gas and Process Industries, our client is a worldwide specialist in Power Conversion, providing customized solutions to convert electrical energy through optimum application of technology in drives, controls, motors and generators. Purpose: • To work as part of a multi-skilled team, modeling/simulation of drive and power system, developing embedded controllers and control software for use in drive systems. Main Tasks and Activities: • The exact duties will depend on experience, but could include some or all of the following: • To specify, design and simulate control schemes for variable speed drives and power system • Matlab Modelling • Specify, design, test & document embedded firmware • Work with other units to develop common drive control platform. • Responsibility for estimating and planning of work to ensure budgets and timescales are met. • Application of engineering standards The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and incumbents are expected to undertake all reasonable duties as request Qualifications/Training • Degree level in electrical and electronic engineering or control engineering. • Chartered Engineer Experience: • Over 5 years experience in an engineering design, or research environment • Experience of Matlab simulation or equivalent and ‘C’ programming language • Electronic circuits design • An appreciation of power electronic circuits • Experience of IGBT or thyristor based drives. Knowledge of drives control systems.
