Commissioning Engineer Power Systems

Our client, a Worldwide specialist in power conversation is looking for a commissioning enginner in power systems.
To be competent and have a proven record of HV/LV plant and systems commissioning.
To carry out switching operations and the operation of permit to work, sanction to test and access limitation systems on large projects.
Be competent to produce and maintain documentation to the required standards.
Installation and checking of all Cabling, switchboards, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, UPS systems, generators and motors.
Commissioning and full integration of Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR), switchgear (including primary and secondary injection), on power system protection schemes, including digital protection relays. Service and fault finding on superseded equipment including air, oil and vacuum insulated equipment
Commissioning of PC/PLC related protection and power management systems including their associated software. Tuning and fault finding and setting to work, in conjunction with customers and Generator suppliers.
To produce as commissioned documentation in accordance with independently audited Company Quality and Safety Management Systems e.g. BS EN 18001 and Classification Societies e.g. Lloyds Register and DNV.
Support the execution of EIE initiatives whose aim is to reduce commissioning cycle times & customer complaints.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
To act in the role of ‘Competent Person’ as required by the Electricity at Work Regulations and other legislation, with regard to the administration of Operational Safety including the issuing of Permits to Work, Sanction for Test and Limitation of Access documentation.
Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, in accordance with the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and other relevant legislation such as the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations.
To provide appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision to others to enable them to comply with health and safety legislation.

ESSENTIAL
Qualifications/Training
Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering from a reputable College or University.
Valid Offshore survival training certificate.
Valid Passport to Safety training certificate
Recognised Health and Safety training in risk assessment.
Familiarity with IEC and marine classification society rules.
Experience
Experienced with PC/PLC equipment.
Must have established record of sitework.
Health and Safety trained.
Record of MV training and operations.
Minimum 5 years experience acting in a senior position in a marine environment.
Personal Qualities
Presentable.
Good communication skills, written and verbal in English.
Self-Motivated, Dynamic.
Able to work independently of others with minimal support in a customer facing environment. This is a highly demanding role frequently working under pressure.
Customer focused.
Circumstances
Clean International Driving Licence.
Flexible attitude to working pattern is required.
Willing and eligible to work world-wide and offshore.
